Sheffield City Schools ensures that all children residing within the district, birth to 21, who are in need of specialized education and related services, are identified, located, and evaluated.CHILD FIND is a statewide effort by the Alabama State Department of Education and the Department of Rehabilitation Services to locate, identify, and evaluate children with disabilities from birth to age 21. It helps the child, family, and the school district to plan appropriate services and link families to services for students meeting eligibility requirements in the following disability areas:
- Hearing Impairment
- Deaf-Blindness
- Intellectual Disability
- Mulitple Disabilities
- Orthopedic Impairment
- Speech and Language Impairment
- Visual Impairment
- Other Health Impairment
- Specific Learning Disability
- Autism
- Emotional Disability
- Traumatic Brain Injury
- Developmental Delay
